Medway's Historical Vision
At Medway Primary School, we want our pupils to challenge and critique historical information from the past to the modern day, build a chronological understanding of significant events and figures, within or beyond their living memory, and to build connections of how key events from the past continue to influence and shape the world.
By the time our children leave Medway, they are able
to:
• Gain and deploy the skills needed to interpret and analyse a range of historical sources to question, reason and form arguments.
• Challenge and articulate the impact historical information can have on individuals’ perceptions and beliefs of the past.
• Understand and recognise their role within society through the demonstration of respect, living in a diverse world, and following key principles such as democracy and the rule of the law.
