Medway’s Art and Design Vision

We envision a creative curriculum that enriches the student’s cultural capital. Through focused instruction in drawing, painting and sculpture, we empower them to become confident artists.

By the end of their primary schooling, we aim to:

• Encourage children to analyse and interpret visual information, developing their ability to communicate ideas through art
• Cultivate an appreciation for diverse artistic traditions and cultural expressions
• Provide exposure to art history, allowing pupils to understand the evolution of artistic styles
• Enable pupils to articulate their artistic choices and showcase their creations to peers, teachers and wider community
